Everyone needs to get a web camera and upload Skype....it's an internet program were you can talk for free. Here, Berkley is talking to my mom and dad - you don't use the phone, she just likes to pick it up and pretend!!!

First Day of School

As completely unexpected as it was, Berkley's first day of school did not go over too well. She started crying the minute we walked through the doors of the building. Even after dropping her off to her classroom, we could still hear screams down the hall - she seemed to be the only one freaking out! After picking her up for the day, she would not let Simon or I out of her sight. She did not want to nap or go to bed....took her about 30 minutes to finally fall asleep after putting her down for a nap and an hour and 45 minutes to fall asleep after putting her down at night. She screamed the entire time for both "sleep times" until she cried herself to sleep. Poor girl had a rough day......we are back at it again today with more crying but hopefully when I pick her up today things will be a bit better! Fingers crossed!

Berkley is very smitten with my friend, Monica's daughter, Parker (or Parker P, as Berkley calls her). She just loves playing with Parker and having her around. Thankfully for Berkley they are going to be in the same class for school this year (poor teacher!!!). I caught some pictures of the 2 of them while I was watching P.

Oh No, Raggedy Ann is taking over!

I recently caught up with a girl, Lori who I went to high school with. We chatted one day on Facebook and she was telling me about these pictures/wall paintings that she does...she has an Ebay site where she posts them all and she said she can pretty much do anything as a special request! Being the Raggedy Ann lover that Berkley is, I asked about Raggedy pictures. She said "of course"...within a few days, the Raggedy pictures/paintings showed up in the mail and they were SO CUTE! I hung them on the wall (yes, I know they are hung too high, but I had to make sure Berkley couldn't get to them to pull them down!!!). If you are interested in Lori's Ebay site or getting info, let me know....they are all super cute and inexpensive!

Rocking......once again!

For Berkley's FIRST Birthday my uncle gave her a horse that he had been making for the months leading up to the day, however on the way to her party, in the car, the horse broke....my uncle took the horse back home, fixed it up and we got it again....THEN.....after only having the horse one day, Berkley stepped on the rung and it broke (yes, a 2nd time!!!). We gave the horse back, yet again and got it back a few months ago. If course, I have been super late on posting so you are just getting to see this now! (remember...my uncle HAND CARVED this horse himself!!)

To make a long story short....(for those of you who don't know). I have had a pen-pal since 3rd grade. It was a class 'project' that my 3rd grade teacher and my friend, Erin's 3rd grade teacher had put together. She was living in CA at the time and me in NJ. Needless to say, we have kept in touch ever since and have tried to visit each other every other year or so since High School. The last time we saw each other was in August 2007 when I was pregnant with Berkley. She had a baby, Lauren in March so our girls got to meet each other for the first time. Lauren is absolutely adorable and has the sweetest smile and laugh - she is such a happy baby. I am not sure what Berkley's thoughts were about Lauren but she was always trying to kiss and love on her and get her to play....it was very cute. We had a great time and can't wait till the girls are older so they can actually "play" better.

Is it cold outside yet?

The other day I bought Berkley these cute little slipper boots since her feet are always freezing. The boots were on sale for $1 so I could I resist buying them. After getting the boots, she also wanted to wear her winter hat. Needless to say, she walked around the house wearing this "winter" outfit and kept saying 'cheese' for me to take her picture. She just looked SO CUTE!
